Beast of the East Results

March 21, 2010

This weekend Grappler's Quest held it's annual Beast of the East tournament in upstate New Jersey. Team Lloyd Irvin was there in full force, and the Paramount BJJ competition team put in some fantastic performances. Check below for results.

BOTE2010

Children's Divisions
· Brian aka "Dressed for Success" took Gold in Gi and No Gi, showing off his now infamous triangle.
· Brandon won 2 matches and took home a Silver medal.
· Erik fought hard and earned a Bronze.

Adult Divisions
· Paramount BJJ Head Instructor Brad Court won 2 matches for Gold at black belt middleweight.
· Kevin Macmullen continued his winning streak at blue belt with his fourth straight Gold medal. In the last few months Kevin has won the NJGC, Good Fight, US Grappling, and now Grappler's Quest tournaments. He is the man to beat at blue belt middleweight on the East coast.
· Ed "Highlight Reel" Westermark showed off his Judo and top game and took home Gold at white belt middleweight.

· Eric Desmarais won 3 matches before losing in a huge white belt heavyweight division, showing off his sweeps and gaining invaluable experience along the way.
· Rob Risley won 1 and lost 1 at white belt lightweight.
· Rob Cullen landed a huge double leg and escaped a super tight guillotine before losing a war at white belt middleweight.

All in all, very solid performances and great experience gained by all the competitors. Good job guys!
