Unprecedented Results!

June 7, 2010

This past weekend the "Mundial" (World Championships of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) was held at the Pyramid in Long Beach, California. This is a huge event, spanning four days with several thousand competitors each year. 2010 has been an amazing year so far for Team Lloyd Irvin, and this year we made history at the Mundial.

In an unprecedented and historic display, Team Lloyd Irvin brought home 12 Gold medals, 7 Silver and 6 Bronze- Something no American team has even come close to before!

Master Lloyd's teaching and coaching system is second to none. It's a system that we've adopted at Paramount and will continue to utilize with all of our students, whether they compete or not.

Congratulations to ALL of the competitors who trained their butts off and stepped up and competed. Make sure you're following us at twitter.com/paramountbjj for detailed results from tournaments as well as news and events at Paramount BJJ-Team Lloyd Irvin PA.

BOTE2010

· Brian aka "Dressed for Success" took Gold in Gi and No Gi, showing off his now infamous triangle.
· Brandon won 2 matches and took home a Silver medal.
· Erik fought hard and earned a Bronze.

Adult Divisions
· Paramount BJJ Head Instructor Brad Court won 2 matches for Gold at black belt middleweight.
· Kevin Macmullen continued his winning streak at blue belt with his fourth straight Gold medal. In the last few months Kevin has won the NJGC, Good Fight, US Grappling, and now Grappler's Quest tournaments. He is the man to beat at blue belt middleweight on the East coast.
· Ed "Highlight Reel" Westermark showed off his Judo and top game and took home Gold at white belt middleweight.

· Eric Desmarais won 3 matches before losing in a huge white belt heavyweight division, showing off his sweeps and gaining invaluable experience along the way.
· Rob Risley won 1 and lost 1 at white belt lightweight.
· Rob Cullen landed a huge double leg and escaped a super tight guillotine before losing a war at white belt middleweight.

All in all, very solid performances and great experience gained by all the competitors. Good job guys!
